Wolves weren't meant to be solitary animals.

That small fact was frequently the bar across the door that kept Scotty from bolting on the family gatherings. He had so many scars on the concept of family, and yet, here? Here it felt right to be part of the pack.

Except when it didn't.

He'd feel the need to run, to escape building, almost making him snap his teeth at the kindness offered to him.

Corry often saw it before it got too far along, and he'd suggest an outing.

Sometimes, he didn't.

Scotty just kept trying, wanting the pack's safety.
