"You live in a cave."
"We live in a self-aware mountain," he corrected. "It can hear you, you know."
She jumped, looking around, as if she would be able to spot eyes on the stone walls surrounding them.
He hid the smile he knew would anger her and continued on down the passage. It opened into an enormous chamber with glowing stalactites hanging from the center of the ceiling like a chandelier. The walls were covered with a dense, vibrant green moss that trailed down and filled the cracks between the floor stones.
The look on her face was priceless.
