Title: Better Off This Way
Sometimes he wondered what might have happened if he'd taken a different path, made another choice.
Considering the options available for him at the time - a badly thought out, vague plan to run away from a problem that might end the world, or quite deliberately letting literal hell loose and then maybe not being eaten by a pack of demons as long as he remained strong enough, or maybe transforming the world into some kind of absolutist eternal theocracy - he didn't really regret his decision.
The demons were better off gone, as was the entire system of Babel.
