The atmosphere outside the American Embassy was electric.  It wasn’t just members of the PfD who were incensed at the death of Katerina Gerhardt by an American.  There were many others who were tired of America thinking it could throw its weight around.

Inside the Embassy, things were also tense.  It was clear it was to no-one’s benefit the truth come out, too many would be stained by their contact with the far right, however unaware of the circumstances they might have been.  And so, once again, a compromise was agreed upon, one which would allow everyone to keep face.
